Our Story

As one of the first adopters of mid-drive powered eBikes and with 8 years experience, we recognized the need to go to the next level. 2 years ago, we decided to design our own high performance eBikes. We partnered with some of the best names in the business and combined them with some of the highest eBike technology available. The result was the next generation of iGo and our first Canadian designed and built lineup of mid-drive eBikes. Our products perform like high-end conventional eBikes, paired with the advantages of tomorrow’s electronics.

Welcome to the new iGO. The future is electric!

Our Technology

Our new high performance eBikes are developed on what we call the “Tri-Electronic Platform.”

The T.E.P. is made up of three major components; the motor, the battery, and the display. The three stages communicate with each other using CANBUS communication protocol. This ensures that the whole system is running at maximum performance and efficiency, as well as, providing the best possible ride for the rider. Every frame is developed to be paired with the T.E.P., which allows us to produce function-focused eBikes that are truly high performance.

Motor

The German engineered MPF eBike drive system offers great performance, range, and reliability.

Mid-motor technology means that it is mounted in the centre lowest point of the eBike to offer superior balance and weight distribution.
It powers the chain which, magnified by the use of the gears, provides up to 70 NM hill climbing torque in any gear while maintaining low power consumption.

This all-metal gear powerplant houses the gearbox, controller, and sensors measuring torque, cadence, and speed hundreds of times per second to offer an exhilarating ride through any terrain.

Display

The handlebar-mounted backlit multifunctional display communicates with the battery and motor through CANBUS technology. One cable hidden in the frame with waterproof connectivity allows for easy maintenance and software updates. You can select from 10 levels of assistance or no assist. The system calculates your riding consumption based on terrain and assistance level to continuously display how far you can travel in real time. Walk mode, USB port, battery meter, AMP +, Trip timer, speedometer, and odometer.

Battery

The new no-shock side-mounting battery system is an innovation in itself. It is lithium 36 volt 11.6 ah, offering 418 watt hours of power and can be charged on or off the eBike. It was designed to mount sideways into its holder so that the conventional eBike geometry could be respected without compromise.

It’s both lightweight and powerful and incorporates a battery meter for state of charge when off the eBike.

FAQ

How much range does the battery provide on one charge?

There are many different factors that come into play when discussing battery range. In ideal conditions, these batteries are capable of up to 60 km (40 mi) range on a single charge. Variables such as, but not limited to, wind direction, wind speed, rider weight, pedal-assist level, terrain, and slope greatly affect the range that someone can achieve on one charge of the battery.

How do I recharge the battery?

The battery can be recharged either on or off the eBike. All you have to do is plug the charger into the chargeport, and then plug the charger into the wall. The light on the charger will turn red; this means it is charging. When the light turns green, your battery is fully charged. Remove the charger from the wall and unplug it from the battery.

How long does it take to recharge the battery?

The battery needs to be charged from 4-6 hours for a full charge.

Do I need to wait until my battery has depleted before recharging it?

No. You do not need to wait until the battery is completely out of power to recharge it. You can charge it as much or as little as you like.

What is the life of a battery?

Under proper care and usage, the battery is rated for over 600 cycles. After this time, the battery will retain up to 60% of its original capacity.

How much does a replacement battery cost?

A replacement battery will cost $699.

Does the eBike come equipped with a throttle?

No. These eBikes do not come equipped with a throttle, they are pedal assist only. The motor has three integrated sensors that measure torque, cadence, and speed and delivers the necessary power back to the rider.

How fast can it go?

This eBike can go any speed you can pedal to. However, the top speed of the motor is government regulated at 32 km/h (20 mph).

Can I ride the electric bike in all weather conditions?

Yes! These eBikes have been designed and built to perform in any type of weather condition. Schwalbe Jumbo Jim tires are made to be ridden on any terrain and the electronic connectors are sealed to ensure problem-free riding in wet, or snowy conditions. Just be sure to dry the eBike off with a towel after using it in wet conditions. (Electronics can not be submerged in water)

Does my electric bike need any special maintenance to keep running properly?

At iGO, we design our eBikes to function just like conventional bicycles, but with the added performance of electronic technology. Our eBikes do not require any more maintenance than a regular bicycle would.

Do I need a special license to ride an electric bike?

No. These eBikes follow the legal guidelines of Transport Canada and the Department of Transport. As such, they are completely road legal and do not require any form of special licenses to be ridden.

What is the warranty?

There is a 5-year warranty on the eBike frame, 2-year warranty on the motor system and battery, and 1-year warranty on the bicycle components. All wear and tear parts have a 30-day warranty against manufacturer defects.
